VisitWoods is working in partnership with the Stroke Association to increase awareness of the benefits of regular exercise.
Each year many thousands of people have a stroke, in fact it’s the most common cause of disability in the UK. The good news is that strokes are often preventable and for those who do have a stroke, more people are going on to make a good recovery.
Regular exercise can help reduce your risk of stroke. That’s why, during Action on Stroke Month in May, we’re encouraging people to Step Out, a fun walking event for the whole family.
You can Step Out at the Millennium Stadium in Wales or perhaps you’d enjoy a saunter round Glamis Castle in Scotland or Richmond Park in London? Wherever you live there’s an event for you to enjoy.
You can find an event near you on the Stroke Association website
Walking in the woods is just one great way to stay healthy. Use the search bar at the top of this page to find woods near you and take advantage of a fun, free way to reduce your risk of stroke without even realising it.
