A school and two children have scooped prizes for coming up with top ideas to encourage disabled people to visit woods. The prizes were awarded following a competition by VisitWoods and the Disability Roadshow which invited schools and community groups to think of imaginitive ways to make wood visiting easier for people with disabilities.
Zainab Khan won the top prize and the age 7 to 11 category, winning £1,000, art supplies and books for her school, Perry Hall Primary School in Orpington. Zainab's winning entry also earned her a stay in London and a trip on the London eye for her and her family.
Becky Costello from Sacred Heart of Mary's Girls School, Essex, won the age 12 to 16 category with prizes of a digital camera, books and a year's membership to the Nature Detectives club.
Both winners will be announced at this year's Disability Roadshow in Peterborough on 2nd July.
