There are 47 local Wildlife Trusts across the UK managing 2,256 nature reserves, 371 of which are woodlands. They support the VisitWoods project by telling us where these woods are so we can feature them on this website and by helping to promote VisitWoods.
The Wildlife Trusts have more than 800,000 members, 150,000 of which belong to their junior branch Wildlife Watch. As well as managing thousands of nature reserves they also run marine conservation projects around the UK coast. They advise landowners on wildlife-friendly land management and every year they work with thousands of schools.
With their vision of an environment rich in wildlife for everyone, and of creating Living Landscapes and Living Seas, The Wildlife Trusts have lots in common with the VisitWoods project. By working together, we can inspire more people to love nature and wildlife.
