Scottish Natural Heritage

Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) is a non-departmental public body, funded by the Scottish Government. Their work focuses on caring for the natural heritage of Scotland, enabling people to enjoy it, helping people to understand and appreciate it, and supporting those who manage it.

As well as managing many of Scotland’s National Nature Reserves (home to many historic and magnificent forests), SNH are committed to improving the health & well-being of Scots by promoting outdoor recreation and access.

 Scottish Natural Heritage support VisitWoods in a number of ways:

  • They provide funding
    They support us by promoting VisitWoods
    Their staff and volunteers help us to evaluate our project and provide lots of other support too.

We share many similar aims with Scottish Natural Heritage. By working together, we can inspire more people throughout Scotland to enjoy woodland and the outdoors.
