Paths for All is a partnership of more than twenty national organisations, all committed to promoting walking for health and the development of multi-use path networks in Scotland.
As well as supporting 200+ community and workplace based walking schemes and community paths groups in Scotland, Paths for All provides advice, resources and support to individuals and organisations interested in staying active through walking.
Walking has been described by some health professionals as ‘almost perfect exercise’. It requires no equipment or expense and can be done almost anywhere, including woods. The benefits of walking aren’t just physical either. There’s lots of research to support the idea that natural spaces have a positive effect on mental health too and that people who walk in the woods feel much less stressed as a result. Read walkers’ stories to hear directly from walkers who have benefited from being more active.
With the help of Paths for All, VisitWoods aims to make it easier for people to find great woods for walking in Scotland and increase the number of people enjoying regular woodland walks too.
