The Forestry Commission is the government department responsible for forestry matters.
They own or manage over 827,000 hectares of woods and forest and are the single largest provider of outdoor recreation opportunities making them an obvious partner for VisitWoods.
The Forestry Commission also provides grant to private woodland owners under its 'Woodland Welcome' scheme, to support the wider provision of access in woods and forests.
