The Forestry Commission Scotland serves as the forestry directorate of the Scottish Government. They own or manage, the national forest estate - over 660k hectares (35% of Scotland’s woodlands).
As well as delivering the Scottish Forestry Strategy, FCS contribute to many aspects of wider Scottish Government policy such as energy, environment and climate change, biodiversity, healthy living, rural transport, tourism and education.
Forest Enterprise Scotland (the operating arm of FCS) is the largest provider of outdoor recreation in Scotland, making them an obvious partner for VisitWoods.
