Woods have lots to offer older people.
They are places to take their grandchildren, places to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life and get back to wildlife, places to walk the dog or to enjoy a stroll with friends.
A walk in the woods has lots of health benefits too. Gentle exercise is good for the heart, lungs and bones and improves mental wellbeing.
The VisitWoods project is working with Age UK to help inspire older people to discover their local woods and the benefits they have to offer. They are also helping us to evaluate the impact of our project.
Age UK is the the new force combining Age Concern and Help the Aged.
