Enlarge imageA small but very pleasant wood, with access for all, plenty of benches and located next to where three of County Durham's main railway footpaths join. There is an appealing mixture of old and newly planted trees, including conifers, deciduous trees and rides. During my last visit I saw a Jay, a Magpie, a flock of chaffinches and a grey squirrel.
