Lochend Park is a well-maintained haven for wildlife just a couple of kilometres from Edinburgh City Centre.
Major improvements were implemented in 2011 with the creation of a new viewing platform around the pond and new planting to provide additional habitats and food for local wildlife.
The local community is active in biodiversity planning, organising clean-ups and new planting through Friends of Lochend Park.
Nearby attractions include Holyrood Park, Arthur's Seat and Calton Hill.
What a beautiful day to be out in the woods. Nature will put on its best display with all its colours glowing in the sun
